Week of Oct. 11th

Here is a look into what we will be doing this week.

I have attached the spelling words for this week. Please help your child study these words each night. There will be a test on Friday.

In Science, we finished our lesson on transferring energy by making S’more Bakers. Watch for pictures and videos. They were delicious! We will start our lesson on circuits on Wednesday.

In Social Studies, we finished our chapter on early explorers of Florida. We will study this week and have a test on Friday.

In Grammar, we will continue to practice identifying prepositions and prepositional phrases. This is a continuation of last week.

In Writing, we are writing a rough draft of our personal narrative. We will revise and edit this week and start to type the final draft next week.

In Reading, we will do a research project on a Florida landmark to complete Unit 1. Also, students were given a chapter book to read. We will be discussing their reading in small groups. Ask your child about the book they are reading.

In Math, we will start multiplication. Please make sure to help your child practice their math facts each night. They can use XtraMath to practice this skill.

Finally, the word of the week is STAMINA. It means the ability to keep physical and mental effort. Please let me know if your child uses this word at home.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Be safe,
Mrs. Welter
